The Games of the XXIX Olympiad is showcasing 302 events in 28 different sports! 10, 500 athletes carrying their countries name are expected to compete and show that they are the great victors! The 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics will run to the 24th of August to be followed by the 2008 Summer Paralympics from September 6 to September 17.
As I was watching the 4-hour video of the opening of the prestigious Beijing Summer Olympics 2008, I can’t help but feel how this culture takes pride of their Motherland. From that presentation alone China definitely allows itself to be recognized worldwide.
The impressive fireworks display that lighted up the whole of the National Stadium, the architectural wonder known as the Bird’s Nest surely did give pride to the noteworthy leaders of their land.
The opening ceremony featured 14,000 performers - including 9,000 from the People’s Liberation Army - and 15,153 costumes.
