In the film 21, Ben Campbell (Jim Sturgess), first introduces you to the art of card counting, the mathematical system that is always to your advantage. 21 In the open, where young people spend their days as a promising genius of MIT, was forced to swallow his pride and wait on customers in just eight dollars an hour for his lessons. Often accompanied by his two foolhardy buds Miles (Josh Gad) and Terry (Jack McGee), we can sense the underlying desire to Ben, his wings and explore his entire potential. This is not surprising to see eyes fill with joy when, after impressive gains during the lecture, Professor Rosa (Kevin Spacey) invites him to be not only profitable MIT Blackjack team, but be the lead.

At 21, smoke-filled streets and the eerie lights of the moon, all the colors of a premonition of impending danger surrounds Ben’s looming election to accept. Initiation meets Ben as he decides to half-heartedly join the crew. And yes, Ben emerges from having a dork job to having a new journey to overtake Sin City.

“Some people lose and give their emotions while gambling. You never will”, explains Professor Rosa to Ben, explaining why he has the know-how to lead their team to financial success. I felt this line was of particular importance in the understanding of the causes and objectives for this movie. At 21, Robert Luketic lets the audience understand how and why some people are determined to succeed in the game by accident. It goes back to the emotions. People’s condiitons who, if not realized, can get impulsive power of a turn, but if dominated, can get any game of Blackjack acquire the magic “21.”

The movie may not give you a deep emotional perspective, but surely it will fill you with scenes of greatest glory and triumph of a Las Vegas winner enjoying what the gambling epicenter of the world can ever give.
